About me
Graduating from Appalachian State University with
her BS in Physics, Angi had not originally planned on
pursuing teaching mathematics. After having her
three sons with her college sweetheart, Kevin, she
serendipitously found her passion in teaching
through teaching preschool students. Angi wanted to
stretch her instructional reach by using her
background in Physics and showing students the
connections to real-world mathematics. She loved
helping students find their passion for mathematics
and was titled the WRHS teacher of the Year in 2015.
After teaching high school math as a lateral entry
teacher and obtaining her professional teaching
license, Angi became the district math coach and
supported math instruction in all middle and high
schools in Rowan county. In her instructional
coaching career, she developed a passion for
supporting Beginning Teachers and now solely
supports Beginning Teachers across the district.
In her free time, she enjoys traveling, crafting, and
spending time with her husband and their three grown sons.
